When Bolton Council approached us to produce a promotional video showcasing all that Bolton has to offer, we knew we were in for a challenge. The video needed to convey the town’s rich history, exciting present, and bright future, all while remaining engaging and visually stunning. Moreover, the timeline was tight, with the video needing to be delivered in less than a month, as opposed to the planned two months. But we were excited to rise to the challenge and create a video that would make Bolton proud.


Pre-Production: From Script Reviewing to Client Feedback
We began the process by sitting down with the client to discuss their vision for the video. We listened carefully to their requirements and preferences, taking detailed notes throughout. Based on our discussions, we produced an initial script, which we sent over to the client for feedback. They had several comments and suggestions, which we incorporated into the next draft. This process continued until we had a script that everyone was happy with.


Acquiring a Professional Voice Artist: Persistence Pays Off
Next up was finding the right voice artist to bring the script to life. We tried several different artists, but none of them quite hit the mark. However, we knew that getting the right voice was crucial, so we persisted. Finally, we found the perfect voice artist, whose tone and delivery captured the essence of Bolton perfectly. The client was thrilled with our choice, and we were confident that we had made the right decision.


Delivering with a Quick Turnaround: Beating the Deadline
With the script and voiceover in place, we got to work on the visuals. We knew that time was of the essence, so we worked quickly and efficiently to get the shots we needed. We used a drone to capture aerial footage of Bolton’s stunning landscapes, as well as a mix of flat footage and motion graphics to create an immersive viewing experience. We also used colour grading to ensure that the video had a cohesive and visually stunning look.

Despite the tight timeline, we were able to deliver the video in less than a month, a full month ahead of schedule. We were thrilled with the final product and knew that the client would be too.


Premiering the Video at the Invest in Bolton Event: Success!
The video premiered at the Invest in Bolton event, and the response was overwhelmingly positive. Attendees were impressed with the high-quality visuals and the way the video captured Bolton’s history, culture, and natural beauty. The video was also used on the Bolton Council website and social media channels, where it received thousands of views and shares.


Producing the Invest in Bolton video was a challenging but ultimately rewarding experience. We also gained a deeper appreciation for Bolton and its unique character. It’s not every day that we get to work on a project that allows us to showcase the best of a town and its people, and we feel grateful to have had this opportunity.
