Bolton Libraries and Services:
Early Learning
We were tasked to create a short community film that would help communicate how
isolation, restrictions and lockdowns during the Covid-19 pandemic impacted Early Years
children and their families. It focused primarily on the impact on Children’s speech and
language, social and emotional development and general health and Wellbeing.
We filmed in our local town of Bolton at the Library building, capturing Interviews and
footage of children participating in creative sessions. The film featured child centred
learning and lots of footage of children and parents enjoying the sessions. It also
highlighted the importance of using the towns library and museum as a community
resource.
We used a clear narrative to tell a story of the importance of play, fun, imagination,
discovery, creativity, Speech, and language. The team remained professional throughout
due to the nature of the footage, the importance of the location and our relationship with
Bolton Council, who commissioned the project.
