2022 Festival
Bolton Council approached us two years running to provide film services for their prestigious food festival. The purpose of the campaign was to showcase the festival, encourage people to return to the town centre and share the cultural significance of the festival within the community. They also wanted the videos to attract vendors and investors to the festival for future business relationships. The Food and Drink Festival was in its 16th and 17th years and had established itself as the largest festival of its kind in the Northwest.
After going virtual in 2020 due to Covid19 these were the first two major events run by the Bolton Council team since the end of lockdown and when the council reached out to us, we were delighted to have the opportunity to be able to be the main video team for the festival in our hometown. We were very proud to be working at such a prestigious event over the August Bank Holiday weekend and we were delighted to be able to use our professional skills to help showcase Bolton at its best.
The festival featured a packed programme of regional chef cookery demonstrations, live music, street entertainment and over 120 food, drink, arts, and crafts traders on display. We also knew kids (young and old) like to be entertained and this gave us an opportunity to film at the themed Family Zones. We captured live music across two stages as well as street entertainment and cookery demonstrations. We followed tight deadlines and strict brand guidance whilst maintaining a positive relationship with our partner.
We filmed daily between 9am and 9pm on each day of the event and filmed across the town capturing a variety of cooking services and activities. We captured the feel of the festival and showed positive brand associations for sponsors (including Warburtons and Aldi). We obtained generic shots of talking heads and traders, shots of big crowds and busy streets and footage from children’s activities areas, including a family zone.
